ETALON TR3100

We would like to present our new project – major repairs of TATRA Т3 type tramway with the body replacement. This project may be implemented both by producing a new body equipped to modern standards and with major repairs of bogies, as well as by producing the body only with various level of its equipment.

Currently, tram depots carry out such repairs commonly due high level of wear of the tramway fleet, its obsolete technology and high energy consumption, however, the cost of new tramways is three times as high as the repairs with the body replacement.

The main tramways parameters are: low floor in a section, passenger capacity – 144, places for seating – 31 and additionally 3 jump seats and 1 place for a wheelchair; the dimensional length is almost 15900 mm, width – 2500 mm, wheel track – 1524 mm, gross weight – 32 t.

The tramway is designed in urban style and has rectangular head lamps specific for ETALON corporation, flat side supports and windshield glass of the cabin. The front and rear bumpers are removable to ensure tramways operation by the multiple-unit system.

Pulling drive made by Informbusiness (Moldova) is used, it offers the possibility of independent disconnection of one of the bogies. The drive provides anti-skid function, recuperation, electric dynamic braking and saving of up to 40% of electricity compared to classic TATRA Т3 drive. All information on the drive operation is processed by on-board computer and is shown on the central display of the driver’s working place.

The tram electric equipment is made on the basis of CAN-bus, which gives the advantages such as: reduction of the number of wires, regular control of low voltage network and its components (the places of wire break, short circuits and good condition of connected consumers). All relevant information is shown on the display placed on the right side.

Side windows are flat, tinted, have vent windows and emergency exit function.

The tram has four doors: in the front and rear sections the doors are single-wing, and in the low floor section – two-wing doors. Four doors instead of two, as the other manufacturers use, allow to accelerate passenger turnover:

• in case if the ramp is used, access to the entrance at the low floor section of the tram  is not completely blocked;
• the entrance through the entrance door without steps is 3-4 times more efficient, and it is especially important in rush hours.

The tram doors are produced by KAMOZZI Ukraine. The door drive ensures mechanic unblocking both from outside, as well as from within, the function of door opening is also previewed (when the tram is stopped completely) by the passengers from outside and from inside of the tram, which allows opening only the doors needed for the passengers.  It minimizes energy loss for heating or conditioning of the tram interior. The door leaf is made of aluminum.

The unique feature of the door construction is the absence of elements extending out of the door leaf size.

As the imperative of the time, the tram body is designed with the low floor arrangement in the middle section of the tram. The low floor platform is more spacious compared to its analogues: percentage of the low floor area is 40%.

The flooring has no joints and is laid to cover side panels, such solution ensuring protection of construction elements of the body and floor against moisture from the interior, thus, increasing corrosive resistance of the tram construction.

The seats in the main section of the tram are arranged in 3 rows, 4-row plan is possible on customer request.

The driver’s working place is spacious, has good observability, powerful conditioning and heating system operating independently from the interior. The driver’s seat has spring suspension with wide scope of adjustments, and may rotate towards the zone of the passage.

In cold seasons, the microclimate in the tram is provided by 6 electric stoves in the interior and a separate stove in the driver’s cabin, the air induction is possible from outside and from the cabin. In summer, the driver’s cabin has the conditioner on, the conditioner is a basic configuration option item. The interior conditioner is installed as an option, instead of the conditioner, the combined extract-and-input ventilation system can be installed.

The construction design of the front and rear parts of the tram is uniform, which allows, if necessary, to place the driver’s cabin in the rear part and use the tram on the lines without tram reversal ring. To perform reverse movement, the tram is equipped with remote control.
