Limited Liability Company “Chernigiv Autozavod” is a production enterprise of the “Etalon” corporation, the main activity of which is the production of buses, trolleybuses and trucks.
The history of the creation and production of automotive equipment in the city of Chernigiv began in August 2003 at the premises of the Chernigovavtodetal plant. In September 2003, the first bus of the BAZ 2215 Delfin model, developed by the specialists of the Etalon corporation, based on the GAZelle car, rolled off the assembly line of the Chernigiv Autozavod (about 5,000 units were manufactured and sold in total).
At the same time, the Research Institute of Automotive Industry “Etalon” (Lviv) was founded.
Since November 2005, the production of small class buses of the BAZ A079 model has been established at the Chernigiv Autozavod. 55 modifications were created on its basis. The model quickly gained recognition among the main consumers (and this, first of all: private road carriers, as well as public transport enterprises, educational institutions, etc.) and took a worthy place in the market (in different years the share was up to 75% of new buses in Ukraine). An important stage of development was the development of the production of school and special buses. In total, more than 20,000 buses of the A079 family were manufactured and sold.
The next step in the development of the automotive component was the development and serial production of buses on the chassis of the Chinese company FAW (7-meter long A074).
Since 2008, all models of vehicles of the Etalon corporation have received “flower names”: “ Kruchenyy panych” (BAZ 2215), “Podsnezhnik” (A079 intercity), “Malva” (A079 tourist), “Chernobrivets” (A074 ), “Mak” (A083), and trucks – “Podorozhnik”.
In 2010, the serial production of city buses A08110 “Vasilek” and A11110 “Romashka”, built on the chassis “Ashok Leyland” (India), began.
Already in 2011, “Chernigiv Autozavod” presents to the general public the first sample of the A08120 Troyanda intercity bus. The bus has a high degree of unification with our city bus model A08111, which, by the way, is a modification of the serial city bus A08110.
This approach, widely used by engineers when creating new models of vehicles, provides carriers with the opportunity to simplify the maintenance and repair of buses for various purposes.
Since 2013, the serial production of a mid-class city bus with a low entrance in the rear overhang A08128 has begun, which provides for the transportation of passengers with reduced mobility.
It should be noted that since the second half of 2013, the Chernigiv Autozavod has been carrying out systematic work to introduce environmental standards Euro-5 and Euro-6, taking measures to improve the environmental class of buses from Euro-4 to Euro-5. In 2014-15, buses A08129 Troyanda and A08130 were developed using compressed natural gas (Euro-5 standard).
And since 2014, the T12110 Barvinok trolleybuses began to run on the city routes of Chernihiv.
An important direction of the Etalon Corporation’s marketing strategy is the development of foreign markets. To accomplish this task, ” Chernigiv Autozavod ” constantly participates in various international exhibitions and forums of automakers. Based on the results of communication with leading manufacturers and large car dealers, recommendations are developed for our designers, technologists and manufacturing workers regarding the compliance of our products with the market requirements of various countries.
New bus models for the European market are built on the chassis of the world famous DAF company. These are, first of all, 10-meter long-distance buses “Tulip” (А08420 and А08430). Bus А08432 of Euro-6 standard was presented at the international exhibition Busworld Europe 2017 in Kortrijk, Belgium.
All models of buses “Etalon”, which are produced from the conveyor of the “Chernigiv Autozavod”, comply with environmental standards Euro-5 and Euro-6.
At the end of 2018, the first sample of the city bus model A12210 “Astra” 12 meters long, with a low floor level, with a capacity of more than 100 passengers was presented to journalists and the public.
In the same year, the company received a certificate for the international quality management system ISO 9001: 2015.
At the end of 2018, the company manufactured a new version of a 12-meter low-floor large-class diesel bus for urban passenger transportation A12221 “ASTRA” with an engine of the Italian company “FPT” (IVECO), which complies with the Euro 6 environmental standard, and an automatic gearbox from ALLISON Transmission Inc.
In 2020, the production of a new T12220 trolleybus with increased autonomous travel (up to 20 km) and dynamic recharging began.
In the same year, the production of the TR3100 tram began.
At the moment, production at the “Chernigiv Autozavod” is carried out in the reconstructed production buildings with an area of 25 thousand square meters. m, which are equipped with modern energy-saving equipment, including for space heating. The enterprise has a closed technological production cycle, including procurement, bodywork, assembly production and a modern painting complex, taking into account all the advanced technologies for painting vehicles.
In order to provide a range of works on warranty, as well as post-warranty repairs of automobile and electric vehicles manufactured by Etalon Corporation, a network of authorized service centers has been created throughout Ukraine.
